Nursing Assistant Advanced

Nursing Assistant Advanced prepares students to work in an advanced care setting. A Nursing Assistant advanced is a Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has received specialized training to perform more complex patient care skills such as phlebotomy, point of care testing, bladder scans, EKGs, catheter removal, and assisting licensed nursing personnel in sterile technique situations.

Nursing Assistant Advanced prepares students to work in an advanced care setting. A Nursing Assistant advanced is a Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has received specialized training to perform more complex patient care skills such as phlebotomy, point of care testing, bladder scans, EKGs, catheter removal, and assisting licensed nursing personnel in sterile technique situations.

Nursing Assistant Advanced combines the Patient care Technician (CPT) Curriculum and Nursing Assistant (CNA) Curriculum.

What is the Difference Between Nursing Assistant Advanced and Patient care Technician (CPT)?

The Nursing Assistant Advanced Program and the Patient Care Technician Program consist of EKG, Phlebotomy, and Clinical Lab Skills.

Nurse Advanced:

The student will begin with the Nursing Assistant curriculum and end with EKG, Phlebotomy, and Clinical Lab Skills.

Patient Care Technician:

If the student already holds a Nursing Assistant certificate and only has to take EKG and Phlebotomy and Clinical Lab Skills.

Schedule of Sessions Options

9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Morning Classes

The day program is 12 weeks long. Students attend classes 20 hours a week attending classes Monday through Thursday.

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Evening Classes

The evening program is 15 weeks long. Students complete 16 hours a week attending classes Monday through Thursday.

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Weekend Classes

The weekend program is 20 weeks long, where students complete 12 hours a week attending classes on Saturday and Sunday.
